His name is Achilles, an arrogant mercenary general fighting on the side of Sparta with a league of fine warriors under his wing. His formidable strength, swift agility and invincibility, has spread over the many lands. However, he is unhappy, for he still served the Spartan King for the sake of making himself known to the world.

During the Battle of Troy, the Sparta presented a huge wooden horse to the Trojan King. Since then, it was known as the Trojan horse. The horse acutally housed Achilles and his wing of warriors, they had infiltrated the gates of Troy via this gift.
Achilles was trudging though the grounds of Troy in anger and vengeance.

Paris had stolen Queen Helen of Sparta and sparked this dispute between Troy and Sparta.
Paris had trained so hard, hoping to avenge his brother's death one day.

Oh so hard Paris had trained. He failed to kill Achilles by taking his heart. Instead he hit his heel. The moment the arrow peirced into Achilles' heel, he could feel an uncanny feeling surge through his body.

Being surrounded by many Troy soldiers, Achilles fought bravely as ever single-handedly. No Troy soldier was a match for Achilles. This one no less.
Achilles easily severed his head in no more than ten exchanges of blows.

The next challenger was Paris. Despite knowing that he was of no match, Paris still fought Achilles. It didn't take Achilles long to bring him down.

As Achilles stood over Paris and raised his blade. He thought of how this pathetic love-lorn Troy Prince had started this war. Achilles was all so ready to take his life.

Never will one thought that Paris had hidden a dagger in his belt. Being a Prince who had retreated from a duel, leading to the death of his brother Hector, this act was expected of him.

Just as Achilles' blade was about to strike down on Paris. Paris' dagger slit across Achilles torso, tearing his gut.

For once, Achilles could feel pain as his stomach acid surged into his stomach cavity, intoxicating him. Whatever had happened to his invincibility? Achilles fell to the ground as he stared up into the Trojan sky. He thought to himself "Why have the gods forsaken him?"

Achilles, was blessed by the gods with invincibility since his birth and believed to born of divinity blood. Apparantly, he was held by his heel when Zeus had dipped him into a magical potion conferring him his invinciblility. However, his heel was not covered. Thus, when Paris' arrow hit Achilles' heel, it destroyed Achilles' mythical armour, making him vulnerable, like a human being.

Ths heel is anatomically known as the Achilles heel and within, the Achilles tendon can be found. No one ever thought that there is this association to the myth. But this is how it came about....
