Intel Core Duo Driven MacBook Pro

MacBook Pro is finally here!
The MacBook Pro is the latest addition to the Apple's notebook catalog. Though it may look like your regular Powerbook, but the MacBook Pro is a completely new generation because it features an Intel processor instead of the regular PowerPC processor. The new MacBook Pro spots the usual niche functionalities such as Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, Gigabit Ethernet, 54Mbps Airport Extreme wireless networking, slot-loading DVD rewriter and the addition of an integrated iSight, making video conferencing easy as a 'click' of a button away.

The Intel Core Duo processor represents an order-of-magnitude leap in processor design. It’s actually two processors (cores) engineered onto a single chip — offering virtually twice the computational power of a traditional single processor in the same space. With two cores tightly integrated, increased L2 cache. While the Intel Core Duo delivers far more horsepower and consumes less energy. In short, the MacBook Pro runs at an enormous speed 4x faster than your Powerbook G4.

Universal language symbol found on latest Mac application means they’re made to run on both Intel- and PowerPC-based Mac computers. Simply install them as usual. They’ll automatically run at peak performance for your Mac’s architecture. And, it bears repeating, if your Mac is powered by the Intel Core Duo, that performance will be nothing less than astounding — up to 4X what is possible on PowerPC-based machines.
