Hasegawa Trytool Stand [Robot type A]

Finally, I've decided to splurge (well, not really) on a robot stand for my gunpla kits.
It is the Flexible Stand for Robot Type A by Hasegawa Trytool.
The reason for getting this stand, is mainly for taking photographs.
It is the type with the clear stem and base, which I've alwaysfelt most suited for photography.

The details. Composed of multiple BJ (Ball joints) for the high flexibility. The ball joint at the base is lined with a silicon material, hence giving it a tight grip, while the rest are slightly loose to feel. I will just have to put it to test.
It comes with 2 sizes for the grip, a flat one (right, which I have no clue how to use it) and the groin grip (left) suited for 1/100 kits.

Putting the 1/100 MG kit to test, results in not being able to hold its weight. It droops down when placed in a 45 degree angle. The groin grip did not fit most of the 1/144 as well. I swapped back to the flat piece and tried ways to imagine a way to use it.

Conclusion: The Hasegawa Trytool stand can be used for gunpla kits if you have a creative mind on how to use it. Nevertheless, you won't want to stand S$20++ for a stand that doesn't fit OOB. But this stand definitely looks prefect for photography. The stand can withstand 1/144 kits poised at 45 degree angles but require a slight counter balance at the base.
All in all, given a choice, I will still get it, because there is no other alternatives of finding a clear stand which is ideal for photography.

I doubt so, my room was never windy, thus explaining the funky dried up 'root juice' smell! LOL

no lah, the flat piece goes under the skirt of the MS. and the thighs clamp flat piece snugly as well.
