1 Token = 50c

I dug up a 'chest full of silver'! These aren't actually silver, but they are nickel tokens that were used at amusement centers or arcades. In a time before the cash-card or magnetic card credit system was invented or implemented at the amusement centers, the use of tokens were the only way of getting 'credits'.My brother and I frequent quite a bit of the arcades when we were young. We would travel around Singapore, in search of new challengers to pit our 'Street Fighting' skills in "Super Street Fighter II" or "Fatal Fury 2", which we held some unbeatable record. Along the way, we found ourselves collecting souvenirs, their credit tokens.

Left: PACO Funworld, Ang Mo Kio Big MAC Center
Right: Circus Circus, at Bugis Village
(top and bottom row shops the front and back of token)

Left: Super Funworld, at 'old' Hougang Central
Middle: Astropolis, at Funan (beside Challenger)
(top and bottom row shops the front and back of token)
Clockwise from top: JIACO, MagicLand, Genie Funland, Nanta-Ku
Clockwise from top: Circus Circus (2nd generation token), WYWY Wonderspace, SEGA E-Zone, FLEX Funzone

Clockwise from top: Lagoon Wonderland, Funworld, Jackie, Magic City

Left: NAMCO, at Bugis Junction
Right: Country Funworld, Beauty World

Ah... Those were the good old days when 50c a game is not exactly very cheap but still we must dig our piggy banks so that we can play a game or two.
GPGT!

Neat collection. I think I still have some from Genting's amusement centers stashed in my drawers.
