EATZ: Nasi Briyani, again at Ah Mei Cafe

Nasi Briyani with Chicken (Ayam Briyani or Ayam Biryani) is one of the most adored dish by Singaporeans. It originated from the Middle East, and since it made its way to South East Asia, the tastes has also been modified along the way. Now, you can find Nasi Briyani in any Indian or Muslim food stall.
I definitely adore my Nasi Briyani. I have tried the "Best Briyani in Singapore" and adores the ones from "Sri-Kamala" as well as "Ah Mei Cafe (AMK Hub)". This time I am back to "Ah Mei Cafe" at another outlet at Velocity @ Novena Square.

Tel: 6254 1727
Operating Hours: 7:30am to 10:00pm
Located at one secluded corner on the second level of Velocity @ Novena Square, Ah Mei Cafe is directly opposite a spanking new factory-like "Donut Factory" outlet, near the rear exit leading to TTSH. The Ah Mei Cafe outlet is more welcoming than the stall at AMK Hub, with ample seating in a clean enclosed shop.

Orange and yellow colour rice grains sits loosely on a white 'banana-leaf' plate, accompanied with a huge fried chicken accompanied with chicken curry and pickled cucumber. I requested to have my chicken chopped into chunks for easier consumption with a set of spoon and fork.

Verdict
The same quality briyani as the one I had at the Ah Mei Cafe (AMK Hub) outlet. I love the soft, yet not too soggy, fragrant briyani rice spiced with the right amount and combination of condiments to make it a worthy competitor against the "Best Briyani in Singapore". Though the huge chicken drumstick is fried, the skin is not crispy like KFC's. The white meat is juicy and tender, goes perfectly with the moderately spicy curry gravy. Ah Mei Cafe is also a Halal eatery where you can enjoy good food and drinks with your Muslim friends.
If you want good briyani together with good "Ah Mei Milk Tea", Ah Mei Cafe is the place!
